August 27th, 2011. LOS ANGELES, CA. Retail florists from around the country attended the QuickFlora POS “boot camp” in order to learn how to use the latest technology to run their flower shops.

Attendees were given seminars on florist accounting, marketing, website management, order management, delivery management and holiday planning.

The one-day event (normally held on a Saturday) allows flower shops to bring in their staff and focus 100% on maximizing their use of the QuickFlora Point-of-Sale system.

“I never imagined I could do so much with technology to process my flower orders,” said Karen Yould, from Corona del Mar Florist in Corona del Mar, California. Yould’s upscale, boutique flower shop in the trendy Newport Beach area services clients from all over Orange County. Karen recently upgraded her point-of-sale from an older Visual Ticket system that kept crashing all of the time.

“We can now calculate our cost of goods accurately,” said Sarah Layman from Petals and Vines Florist in Monmouth, Oregon. Sarah brought down five of her family members involved in the flower shop to learn how to use all the modules in the QuickFlora POS system. Sarah’s flower shop in Oregon suffered significant damage in a recent fire, prompting her to get a clean start with a new POS system.

The POS training classes are free to all QuickFlora users and held once a month in different parts of the country.
